UNDP country offices in Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakstan and Kyrgyzstan are hosting an online event to accelerate gender equality in STEM in partnership with STEM4ALL and UNDP Regional Bureau for Europe and the CIS. All interested in achieving gender parity in STEM education and careers are invited to join. The conference is taking an interesting angle – how to address the “leaky pipeline” phenomenon that lies behind the disappearance of girls and women as they begin and progress along STEM pathways. Speakers representing academia and NGOs from the region and the US will share their research and insights as to why girls and women “evaporate” from STEM generally and which interventions are necessary to tackle the various barriers at different entry points of the pathway to increase gender equality in STEM in Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
Those interested in attending the conference can visit the Facebook Event Page to REGISTER. Join in the discussion using #STEM4ALL, #UNDP4STEM hashtags. The event will be hosted in English and Russian languages.
